Most of what guests ask before booking. If you do not find what you are looking for, send me a message — I usually reply within a few hours.
Where do the tours start?+
All tours start from central Prague. The exact meeting point is listed on each tour page and confirmed in your booking email — typically near Prague Main Railway Station so we can be on the road quickly.
Are tours available year round?+
Yes. The sandstone rock towns are beautiful in every season — green canyons in summer, golden forests in autumn, frosted spires in winter. I check the forecast and trail conditions before every tour and contact you if a route needs adjusting.
How big are the groups?+
Small. Most tours run with up to 7 guests so I can keep things personal — share the best viewpoints, take detours when something interesting comes up, and make sure no one gets left behind. Private tours are available on request.
What is included in the price?+
Transport from and back to Prague, an English-speaking guide (me), bottled water and a snack, traditional Czech lunch (vegetarian and vegan options available), and all entry fees. Full details are on each tour page — see Our tours.
How do I pay?+
Full payment is taken at the time of booking via credit or debit card. All prices are listed in EUR and include all taxes.
What is your cancellation policy?+
More than 48 hours before the tour: full refund. Within 48 hours of the tour: no refund. If I have to cancel due to unsafe weather or other unforeseen circumstances, you can reschedule for a different date or receive a full refund. The full policy lives in our Terms and Conditions.
What happens if the weather is bad?+
We run rain or shine — sandstone landscapes are stunning in mist. If the weather is genuinely unsafe (heavy storms, flash floods, extreme wind) I will contact you to reschedule or refund. Your safety is the priority.
How fit do I need to be?+
It depends on the tour. Each tour page lists a difficulty rating and total walking distance. Most tours involve 4-10 km of walking on forest paths and sandstone stairs — comfortable for anyone who can walk in a city for half a day. If you are unsure, message me before booking.
Are tours suitable for kids?+
Yes, depending on the tour and age. The Bohemian Paradise tour suits kids from around 6+; the longer Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland tour is better for 8+. Younger children may find the full day tiring.
What should I bring?+
Comfortable hiking shoes or sturdy walking trainers, layered clothing (weather changes quickly in the canyons), a light rain jacket, sunscreen and sunglasses, water beyond the bottle I provide, and your passport or ID if the tour crosses into Germany. Each tour page has a full What to bring list.
Can you arrange a private or custom tour?+
Yes. I run private tours for families, couples, and small groups, and can customise the route or pace on request. Drop me a message with what you have in mind via info@mara-tour.com or WhatsApp at +420 732 387 382.
What languages do you guide in?+
English and Czech. I have hosted guests from over 30 countries and try to keep the storytelling clear and friendly regardless of accent.
